Doris began her career as a Registered Dietitian in the hospital sector. She then went on to obtain an MBA and has 40 years of experience in health care management. She is now Director of Support Services at Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences in Whitby, Ontario.

Doris is on the board of Celiac Canada and was the lead author of the Celiac Canada resource Gluten-Free Foodservice in Health Care: A Practical Guide. On a personal note, Doris and both her daughters have celiac disease, each diagnosed at various stages in their life. Doris understands the challenges associated with both requiring a gluten-free diet and also providing excellent gluten-free food service within the health care sector.

A leading international expert on the gluten-free diet, Shelley is a registered dietitian, author, speaker and consultant with more than 40 years’ experience. She is a member of the Celiac Canada Professional Advisory Council and Chair of the Celiac Canada Dietitian Working Group.

Shelley is a sought-after media source, conducting hundreds of TV, radio, online and print interviews. As a popular speaker, she delivers numerous presentations at medical, nutrition, celiac and food industry conferences throughout North America.  Author of many journal articles on celiac disease and the gluten-free diet, she also contributes to a variety of other publications for health professionals, consumers and the food industry. Shelley’s best-selling book Gluten Free: The Definitive Resource Guide is highly recommended by health professionals, celiac organizations, consumers, the food industry and media.

In recognition of Shelley’s major contributions to the field of celiac disease and her dedication to educating health professionals and individuals with celiac disease in North America, she was awarded the Queen Elizabeth Golden Jubilee Medal and King Charles Coronation Medal.

In addition to her food and nutrition expertise, Shelley has celiac disease and understands the challenges of following a strict gluten-free diet for life. Shelley and her family live in Calgary, Alberta.
